English actress Catherine is from Iranian and Scottish ancestry, who grew up in London. Her Scottish father Peter Bell is architect while her Iranian mother Mina personal assistant and nurse is. She moved to California with her mother when she was two years old.

She studied at the catholic girls school (Our Lady of Corvallis High School) in Los Angeles and studied biology at the UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) in order to become surgeon or biomedical engineer. She took also acting classes under Milton Katselas at the The Beverly Hills Playhouse.

She practiced skiing and snowboarding on young age and is physically very fit. She is trained in martial arts, boxing and kickboxing and likes to blow off steam at the gun range.

She met production assistant Adam Beason on the set of the movie ''Death Becomes Her'' in 1992. The couple marries on 08-05-1994 and live together until they divorce 16-10- 2011. Daughter Gemma was born on 16-04-2003 and son Ronan was born on 21-08-2010.

Action Movie Career

She made her action movie debut as Cynea and Kevin Sorbo plays the lead role as Hercules, who slays mythical monsters using his half-god strength in the action TV series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" (1995 - 1999).

She plays Lt. Col. Sarah MacKenzie and David James Elliott plays Commander Harmon Rabb Jr. who's former Navy fighter pilot in the action TV series "JAG" (1996 - 2005). Colonel Sarah and Harmon are lawyers of the US Navy's JAG (Judge Advocate General's) office. They investigate and litigate crimes committed by Navy and Marine personnel.

She plays Grace Lashield next to Dolph Lundgren who plays the lead role as former mercenary Nick Gunar in this story, where it is difficult for him to adjust to civilian life, after he's burnt out and jaded by war in "Men Of War" (1994). He's hired by the Nitro Mine Corporation in order to force the natives of a South China Sea island to renounce their rights of its valuable mineral resources. He recruits some of his former mercenary buddies to help him out with the mission. He will earn enough money with this seemingly easy job in order to go back to his estranged family.

She plays Lt. Cmdr. Lisa Stark in this story about the crew of the nuclear submarine USS Ulysses who rescues supposed victims of a boat disaster in ''Crash Dive'' (1997). The crew discover that the victims terrorists are who have plans to steal the nuclear weapons on board. Former Navy Seal James Carter (played by Michael Dudikoff) who now works as submarine consultant, is the only person who can rescue the crew on board, while the submarine is sinking underwater.

She plays Lisa in this story where a top secret prototype of the Nova Stealth fighter stolen is by Libyan terrorists in ''Black Thunder'' (1998). The Pentagon launches big alarm because the plane may not fall in hostile hands. The only one man who can bring the plane back is test-pilot Vince Conners (played by Michael Dudikoff). He hunts on the Nova in Libya together with his partner Jannick (played by Gary Hudson). They try to find the Nova, before Libyan terrorists can bomb nerve gas on the meeting of the United Nations in Paris.

She plays Elizabeth Wintern, next to Casper Van Dien who plays the lead role as Tom Merrick in ''The Time Shifters'' (1999). Tom is hired by a cheap tabloid to collect photos for a series of articles of famous disasters. He makes a curious discovery on photos of catastrophes as the San Francisco Earthquake and the Hindenburg explosion. There is one person who appears both times in the disasters crowd. An organization called Thrill Seekers sends a group of futuristic "tourists" to historical tragedies, so that they can experience the thrill of being eyewitnesses. Tom finds out that these time-traveling tourists travel to his home town in order to prepare a cataclysmic disaster, which is not happen yet.


She plays deep ocean resource engineer Emily Patterson in this story where six ships are disappear in the Bermuda Triangle in one year in ''The Triangle'' (2005). Emily is hired by millionaire Eric Benerall of the Mineral Shipping Lines in order to investigate the disappearances. She investigates the case together with  Howard Thomas (played by Eric Stoltz), scientist Bruce Geller (played by Michael E. Rodgers), psychic Stan Lathem (played by Bruce Davison) and the skeptical journalist of the Observer.

She plays Daphne Larson in one episode of the action TV series ''Threshold'' (2005). Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey (played by Carla Gugino) is a high level government crisis management consultant from the Blackwood Institute, whose job is to create contingency plans, which are used in emergencies ranging from natural disasters to nuclear war. The U.S. Navy discovers an extra-terrestrial object which briefly appeared near a ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Dr. Molly and a team of experts get the assignment to investigate the alien threat.

She plays former-marine Abby Collins who served as lieutenant in Afghanistan in ''Last Man Standing'' (2011). She resigned at the navy, because her last mission ended completely wrong. She and her team have failed to protect an Afghan scientist, who wants to testify against Al Qaeda. Abby comes in action when her husband is kidnapped, while she is forced to meet the requirements of the hijackers, or her husband will be executed. She will need all her highly trained operative skills, when she tries to save him.

Scientology

She studied Scientologist and supports the Scientology's Hollywood Education and Literacy Project. She helps to promote the gala opening of the Citizens Commission on Human Rights museum in december 2005. She appeared in a Scientology music video called "United" in february 2006.
